Phil Fox has broken the Guinness World Record for circumnavigating Lake Huron by bicycle, completing the more than 1,000-mile journey in 69 hours and 33 minutes. The feat, verified by the World Ultra Cycling Association, required nonstop riding across parts of the U.S. and Canada with only a single sleep break. HARVARD, Ill. (WBBM Newsradio) - A late-night barn fire in unincorporated McHenry County claimed the lives of six horses and drew a large mutual aid response from area fire departments. The Harvard Fire Protection District was dispatched just before midnight Sunday night to the 19100 block of Crowley Road for a reported structure fire. Initial 911 callers said a barn was fully engulfed in flames, with animals possibly inside.

CHICAGO (WBBM Newsradio) - A 69-year-old man was killed and another man injured in a shooting Sunday night in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood. Gunshots rang out just after 8 p.m. near 54th Street and Damen Avenue as two victims were leaving a business, according to Chicago police. Authorities said three suspects got out of a dark-colored sedan, displayed firearms, and began firing. The 69-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and back and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HINCKLEY, Ill. (WBBM Newsradio) - A 51-year-old pilot was killed and a 3-year-old child injured Saturday when a small plane crashed into a farm field near the Hinckley airfield in DeKalb County. According to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, the single-engine 1946 Aeronca 7AC aircraft went down just west of the airport around midday. Both occupants were from Maple Park, Illinois. The pilot, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
