The warmer weather is here and browntail moths are already impacting parts of Maine. “This year, we saw emergence on the 24th of April, which is about a week and a half later than when they emerged last year,” Maine Forest Service Entomologist Brittany Schappach said. “That’s because we kind of had this stretch of cold and wet weather.”These caterpillars have been prevalent in the state since 2015.
