Bring a small saucepan of water to the boil and carefully add the egg. Boil for 5 minutes, then remove from the heat. Drain away the hot water from the pan and replace with cold to cover the egg. Meanwhile, add about 5cm/2in freshly boiled water to a saucepan and add the gyoza and broccoli. Bring to the boil then reduce to a simmer and cook for around 6 minutes, or until the gyoza are cooked through.

Heat the oil in a medium saucepan with a tight-fitting lid and fry the chicken and sausage for 3 minutes. Add the onion and celery, season well and fry for 5 minutes, or until softened. Add the garlic and pepper and cook for a further minute. Add the tomatoes and cayenne and cook for 2 minutes, then add the rice and stir well. Pour over the stock, bring to the boil, put the lid on, turn the heat down as low as it will go and cook for 12 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6. Put the butternut squash in a small roasting tin, dot the butter over it, sprinkle with the pepper and arrange the sausage meat on top. Cover tightly with foil and roast for 25 minutes. After 15 minutes, bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil, and cook the penne according to the packet instructions. Meanwhile, stir two-thirds of the Parmesan into the mascarpone and set aside.
