    The Harwich and Dovercourt Inner Wheel Club is part of a network of groups which promotes friendship, personal service and international understanding as a counterpart to the Rotary Club. Inner Wheel was first formed in 1924 in Manchester, with the Harwich and Dovercourt branch being launched in September 1959.     Oakfield Wood Wrabness is a natural woodland burial ground site on the banks of the River Stour by the village of Wrabness near Harwich. The site was founded in 1997 by John Action, 77, with a native planted tree being offered for both full burials and ashes. The site is managed by Oakfield Wood with advice from the Essex Wildlife Trust who will take over the management when the burial site is full meaning there is “permanent” protection for the graves.

The Grade II listed property is next to the Mistley Thorn Hotel in the High Street, and used to belong to the hotel. It was developed as a separate business in 1844.
