Proposals to implement 20mph speed limits in parts of Beccles had been mooted after a traffic survey was carried out. And now Beccles Town Council has further discussed proposals that could see a 20mph speed limit introduced in older areas of the town.

    A van has caught fire in Haddiscoe (Image: Stephii-Dawne Leslie) Drivers faced delays on a major road due to a van blaze. Emergency services were called to Station Road in Haddiscoe at around 1.45pm after the vehicle caught fire. Police were asked to come and help with traffic control just after 2pm. Long queues built in both directions of the A143 between Haddiscoe at St Olaves but the scene has since cleared.

Blake Pennell, from Loddon, ate the sandwich during a visit to Stoke in June 2024 and started being violently sick soon afterwards. His condition worsened later that evening and he was rushed to hospital.

Plans lodged by applicant Wilderness Reserve Suffolk for its estate that provides holiday, weddings and party venues had been delayed last month after councillors voted to visit the site.
