    A facelift is coming to the green space across from the Fergus Marketplace building this summer. The space, known as BT Corner, is located at the point where Queen Street West meets Bridge Street and is owned by the township and maintained by the Fergus Horticultural Society. According to a report to council, presented at Monday’s meeting by manager of parks Lucas Rogerson, the space needs upgrades and has been on the horticultural society’s agenda for the past couple of years.

    A new park is coming to the Beatty Hollow subdivision in Fergus this fall. At its Monday meeting, Centre Wellington council approved a recommendation to enter into an agreement with Keating Construction Limited to finalize construction of a park on Farley Road at an estimated cost of $477,701. “They’re looking to be quite quick with the buildout this summer,” said manager of parks Lucas Rogerson, noting the expected completion date for the new park is November 2025.
