COBALT - Cobalt residents are not expected to notice any difference with the new recycling program underway in the town since the start of the month. At the town’s April 1 meeting, town manager Steven Dalley outlined how recycling is now being managed in Cobalt. He told council that in 2021 the Ontario provincial government passed a new regulation that requires businesses that produce packaging must take responsibility for collection of packaging material which makes its way to homes.

At their March 27 meeting, council continued the discussion on what pieces of crown land could be pursued, and what is available.
