Ventnor Middle was Ventnor Secondary Modern between 1956 and 1970. The building was completed 4 months ahead of schedule and officially opened on 3rd June 1956. It was designed by county architect F Booth at a cost of £146,950 (£3,125,000 in today’s values).

    Cowes Sports were beaten by an 82nd minute goal in their final league game of the season at playoff contenders Hamble, despite having taken an early lead. The Monks began the game brightly, volleying the ball against the crossbar in the 3rd minute.
