MCCOOK LAKE, S.D. (KTIV) - It’s normally a recreational hotspot in the metro, but it’s sat quiet for nearly a year. McCook Lake was heavily damaged during the flooding in June of last year. “The goal of the project is to remove sediment and debris that came into the lake during the flood, which poses a recreational hazard to the lake,” said Kip Rounds with South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks. That project on McCook Lake has already begun and is expected to last the majority of the summer.
