    New figures have revealed how many more GP appointments there are for patients n Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes compared to a year ago. The data from NHS England show that between December 2024 to February 2025 patients made over 1,593,000 appointments, compared with 1,376,000 in the same period a year earlier. That’s an increase of 15.7 per cent in the number of slots available.

At a hearing, the force ruled that PC Daniel Goodman would have been sacked for his conduct, if he had not already resigned. The former PC had sent messages to the woman after returning her phone, and asked to follow her on social media.

    Rent in Luton rose 10 per cent over the past year, new figures show. It comes as Propertymark, a membership organisation for estate agents, warned the rental sector faces "sizeable challenges" with an average of 10 people wishing to rent each property currently available in the UK. Provisional figures from the Office for National Statistics show the average private rent in Luton reached £1,172 per month in the year to March – up 10 per cent from £1,061 a year prior.
