All deli counters at Long Island Stop & Shops are back in business following a nationwide listeria outbreak that forced their closure this week. A national recall was issued for Boar’s Head meat on Friday due to the outbreak that caused two deaths in New Jersey and Illinois. Local Stop & Shop delis removed thousands of pounds of meat from their shelves and performed deep cleanings. News 12 spoke to shoppers after the widespread cleanup efforts.

A strange cloud that appeared in Orange County has left residents wanting answers about its origins. The Orange County Office of Emergency Management traced the cloud to the skies above the Middletown-Minisink area. There weren't any fires or explosions, leaving officials to deem the cloud unusually low. Local activists say the plume was traced to the CPV Valley Energy Center in Wawayanda, but county officials say there's no evidence suggesting such a link.

The New Jersey Police Benevolent Association President has confirmed to News 12 New Jersey's Tony Caputo that the suspects involved in Wednesday night’s shooting of a Perth Amboy police officer are in custody. The number of suspects was not available. The condition of the police officer who was shot while on duty has been upgraded from serious to stable. The Perth Amboy police chief confirmed the upgraded condition in a statement to News 12 New Jersey late Wednesday night.

Pauline Hazzard, Halle’s mom, shared a special message for her Olympian. "Be humble as you usually be and you're already there. You don't have anything to prove. Just be yourself," she said.
