BELMONT, N.C. (WBTV) - An investigation is underway after a four-vehicle fire early Tuesday morning. The Gaston County Office of Emergency Management and Fire Services are trying to figure out what caused the vehicles to go up in flames. Cell phone video captured by one resident shows all four vehicles burning. The fire was reported at 12:26 a.m. and the Cramerton Fire Department was on scene four minutes later. Victoria Huitt who lives in the complex says she was awaken by a loud boom.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WBTV) - A body was found in a burning car at a South Carolina college over the weekend, according to sister-station WHNS. The body was found at Furman University in Greenville during the day on Saturday, April 19. University police told WHNS that the fire happened near Montague Village, which is off the main campus behind the school’s softball stadium. The area is where the university’s human resources, IT, finance and other offices are.

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (WBTV) - NASCAR returned to a historic North Carolina racetrack this weekend, but that return ended with a bit of controversy when the original winner was disqualified. Jesse Love, driver of the No. 2 car for Richard Childress Racing, was the first to cross the finish line during Saturday’s Xfinity Series race at Rockingham Speedway.
