Scattered thundershowers will remain in the forecast today through Saturday with highs in the mid-70s. Low clouds will be stubborn to break on Thursday, and a shower is possible at just about any point given the very high humidity level.

BELMONT, N.C. (WBTV) - An investigation is underway after a four-vehicle fire early Tuesday morning. The Gaston County Office of Emergency Management and Fire Services are trying to figure out what caused the vehicles to go up in flames. Cell phone video captured by one resident shows all four vehicles burning. The fire was reported at 12:26 a.m. and the Cramerton Fire Department was on scene four minutes later. Victoria Huitt who lives in the complex says she was awaken by a loud boom.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WBTV) - A body was found in a burning car at a South Carolina college over the weekend, according to sister-station WHNS. The body was found at Furman University in Greenville during the day on Saturday, April 19. University police told WHNS that the fire happened near Montague Village, which is off the main campus behind the school’s softball stadium. The area is where the university’s human resources, IT, finance and other offices are.

Greenville man killed in shooting on FSU campus

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Officials said a Greenville businessman is among the victims killed in a shooting at Florida State University on Thursday. Investigators said a 20-year-old opened fire in the area of the Student Union, killing two people and wounding six others. One of the victims has been identified as 45-year-old Tiru Chabba of Greenville, SC. He is survived by a wife and two children.

School district refuses to place empty chair at graduation for student who died by suicide

MILFORD, Ohio (WKRC) – A mom whose daughter died by suicide wants an empty chair placed at graduation to honor her daughter, but the school district said no. Caylee Mastin died by suicide two years ago when she was just 15 years old. Her mom, Julie Mastin, wants an empty chair placed at graduation to not only honor her daughter but bring awareness to mental health. The Milford School Board said it does not allow empty chairs to honor deceased students at their graduation ceremonies.
