WSIL-TV is the ABC-affiliated television station serving Southern Illinois, Southeastern Missouri, and the Purchase area of Western Kentucky, with its license based in Harrisburg, Illinois. It transmits a high-definition digital signal on UHF channel 34 from a transmitter located in Creal Springs, Illinois. The station is owned by Melvin C. Wheeler, LLC, and its studios are situated on Country Aire Drive (IL 13) in Carterville, Illinois. WSIL-TV also operates a full-time satellite station, KPOB-TV, which is based in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and broadcasts a high-definition digital signal on UHF channel 15 from a transmitter in the city along US 60/US 67. However, WSIL does not have any offices in Poplar Bluff. In addition, WSIL can be viewed on its digital translator, K10KM-D (channel 10), in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The station features various syndicated programs, including Entertainment Tonight, Ellen, and Rachael Ray.

    CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Carbondale police officers responded to gunshots heard early on the morning of April 18, the 400 block of East Hester Street. Officers said they identified two vehicles fleeing the scene, a Chevrolet Cruze and a Dodge Challenger. During their investigation, police stopped both vehicles and reported finding Quearii Mathis-Jones in one of them. Police said Mathis-Jones had fired shots into the air during a disturbance and had a firearm in her possession.

    TRILLA, Ill. (WSIL) -- A small single-engine plane crashed near Mattoon, Illinois, on Saturday. The crash happened on County Road 1400 N in Trilla, Illinois (Coles County) on April 19, 2025, at approximately 10:15 a.m., according to Illinois State Police (ISP). ISP reported there were four occupants in the plane at the time of the crash. All four were from Menomonie, Wisconsin, and were pronounced dead at the scene.     CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Police in Carbondale responded to a shooting on April 19, 2025, around 8:59 p.m. in the 600-block East Main Street. Officers said they found a person with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Police said the victim reported an argument with a white male in the 200-block of North Wall Street, during which a shot was fired. The victim fled the scene before realizing he had been shot, police detailed. The investigation is ongoing.
