The sun is shining Wednesday morning in Chicagoland, and how warm it’ll get later depends on where you are. If you’re close to Lake Michigan, an easterly breeze off the lake will keep high temperatures in the upper 40s. If you’re in the southwest suburbs, on the other hand, you may seen highs in the lower 60s. Wednesday has started chilly, with a center of high pressure sitting just north of Chicago, in Wisconsin.

When you walk outside Tuesday morning, you’ll notice right away it’s a little different than it was 24 hours ago. Temperatures dropped significantly overnight around Chicagoland, with clouds and light scattered rain showers marking the Tuesday morning commute. It’s also blustery, with northwest winds sustained at 25 miles per hour and gusting up to 35 or even 40 during the day Tuesday. Morning rain will clear out, but it’ll remain mostly cloudy, with high temps only reaching the low 50s.

It’s shaping up to be a pleasant spring Monday to start the work week in Chicagoland. Early-morning temperatures were already into the 50s around the area, with afternoon highs projected to reach the low to mid-60s. The average high for April 14 in Chicago is 58, so Monday will see temps above that. Westerly winds will also gust up to 35 miles per hour Monday afternoon, with mostly cloudy skies. We could get an evening shower or two, but otherwise Monday will stay dry.
