Also, two people are now blessed with Jerry Orbach’s eyes, Costco’s PR really has a spin on checking receipts, acid-spraying ants, and more, with Larry Potash, Robin Baumgarten, Pat Tomasulo and Morgan Kolkmeyer. Highs were noticeably cooler Monday in the wake of the low 80s on Sunday afternoon prior to the arrival of mid-afternoon thunderstorms. Peak readings were in the low 70s, a level nearly 10 degrees below normal. The cooler temperatures were accompanied by a gusty westerly wind that passed 30 mph at times while we enjoyed nearly 70% of the day’s potential sunshine. Snapshot of mid to late afternoon temperatures and how much different they were than the same time on Sunday.

If you’ve been anxiously waiting for summertime weather in Chicagoland, your day has arrived. After a cool start early Monday morning, temperatures will rise all the way into the mid- to upper 80s by the afternoon, a good 10-plus degrees warmer than normal for June 2. We’ll also have mostly sunny skies in Chicagoland, but it’ll be hazy due to the Canadian wildfires that continue to burn and send smoke in our direction.
