    Plans to build ‘the third largest film studio in the country’ in Holyport have been rejected by the government. Investment company Greystoke Land had appealed to the government to allow the film studio to be built after councillors at the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead refused to grant planning permission. But minister for housing and planning Matthew Pennycook MP rejected the appeal today (Friday) – citing its ‘potential harm to the greenbelt’.

    Counter terrorism investigators have arrested a Slough man on suspicion of terror offences after an attempted arson at a family activity centre in the town.  The 20-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of arson and possession of an offensive weapon following the incident at Salt Hill Activity Centre on Friday evening (May 30).

    A former student at the Berkshire College of Agriculture has made his TV debut as a deaf and non-verbal actor. Jude Powell stars alongside Adrian Scarborough and Vanessa Emme in the third series of The Chelsea Detective, now streaming on U, Amazon Prime, Apple TV and Acorn TV. The 21-year-old uses British Sign Language to communicate and portrays ‘Jake Green’ in the episode titled Myths and Legends. Jude told the Advertiser that he had ‘many amazing experiences’ working as an actor on the show.
