She preceded him in death on August 28, 2009. Surviving are his children: Daniel Smith, Terry Armstrong, Bill Smith, Shari Przegienda and Kenneth Smith; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his siblings: Lavern Smith, Dee Dewitt-Smith, Carol Dixon and Carolyn Lawson.
