Scott Bradley, 28, described hearing screams on Tuesday afternoon and then seeing a shed on fire opposite his home in Fairway, Costessey. The plans, submitted last week to Norwich City Council, is to change the use of some of the pedestrianised thoroughfare, outside Units 401 and 402, to restaurant use. The units have recently been taken over by popular US fast-food chain Wingstop and Indian street-food restaurant, Mowgli. If approved it would mean a total of 78.3 sqm - 18.3 sqm outside Wingstop and 60.0 sqm outside Mowgli - would be converted.

Ginger clothing store, in Timber Hill, says it's taken the "incredibly difficult decision" to close its doors for good on June 7. Beckie Kingsley, store manager, broke the news to customers in a recent social media post. Jarrolds lodged proposals last week to convert some ground floor space at the 218-home St James Quay development, along Printworks Drive. The location for the spa and gym arises from its hotel proposal for the adjacent St James Mill which was put forward in December last year. Stevie King, who owns the SugarBeat Eating House in Swainsthorpe, made the comments about the cable work being carried out on the A140. The restaurant owner has been campaigning against the roadworks after claiming it has led to a 90pc drop in his lunchtime business. Work on the road, which started in February, is being carried out by Power Systems UK – a sub-contractor working for EDF Energy.
