3 1/1 An eight-year-old RNLI supporter has raised more than £3,000 for the charity by using the power of his feet. Johnathon Jarvis completed a 60-mile walk from Happisburgh to Hunstanton to raise money for the charity that saves lives at sea. He set off on Thursday, May 28, and completed the walk on Sunday, June 1. The youngster was accompanied by his parents Lee and Kayleigh, as well as family and supporters.

The project, scheduled to commence on Monday, June 16, will involve the reconstruction of both sides of the footway, including vehicular accesses, and the installation of new edging at the back of the footway. The work, to be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s infrastructure department and their contractors, is expected to last around 13 weeks, operating from 7am to 4.30pm. Due to the nature of the construction, Links Avenue and Queens Road will be closed to through traffic.

Town Tots Nursery in North Walsham, run by The Benjamin Foundation, has received a ÂŁ5,000 grant from the North Walsham Community Shop to help fund a sensory, food and wildlife garden at its Manor Road site. The new space will be designed with children who have additional needs in mind. The celebrated blues and Americana band, well known in North Norfolk, have decided to retire at the end of the year after an impressive 25-year career. This means the last chance for fans to see them live will be this summer when they perform in Northrepps Village Hall in a concert alongside Scott Butler, producer of Folk on the Pier. The gig on Saturday, July 5, will start at 8pm with doors opening at 7.30pm.
