    Emergency services responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision yesterday evening (Tuesday). The crash, which took place in Helmsley, left one driver in a ditch. Fire crews from Helmsley and Malton responded to the call out at 6:16 pm and worked alongside paramedics and police at the scene. Firefighters used a StabFast and ratchet straps to stabilise the vehicle in the ditch, before assisting the driver to the nearby road ambulance for treatment.

The incident was in Acomb, and an Acomb fire crew attended the scene at around 8:04 pm. The cause of the fire is believed to have been deliberate, and follows three similar incidents in the area from the previous day. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.
