Guernsey Press

Our main goals are to support the Bailiwick and its residents, serve as the community's voice, deliver all the important local news and sports promptly and effectively, engage and entertain our audience, and be a reliable and respected platform for both our readers and advertisers. The Guernsey Press is a daily newspaper published six days a week and requires a subscription. We are the most widely read newspaper in the region, surpassing even national publications, and have a dedicated readership. In 2009, we were nominated for the daily newspaper of the year (for publications with fewer than 40,000 copies) at the UK Regional Press Awards. In 2013, we proudly celebrated our 200th anniversary, marking two centuries of successful publication.

Three of Deputy St Pier’s nine former colleagues, Deputies Lyndon Trott, Heidi Soulsby and Al Brouard, are leaving politics at the end of the current States’ term in June. The other six told the Guernsey Press they would stand at this year’s general election but would not be aligned to any party or similar group.
