    Nebraska’s congressional delegation is heralding an EPA announcement this week as good news for farmers and ethanol producers, but the news is good for consumers, as well. Based on what’s called the Environmental Protection Agency’s Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) volume requirements, the EPA is calling for 15 billion gallons of ethanol and biofuels to be blended into the nation’s gasoline and diesel supply in 2026 and 2027. That volume figure is a proposed target for ethanol and crop producers.
