In total, it would be a 160-mile passenger rail line aimed at connecting Arizona’s two largest cities. The Federal Railroad Administration this week approved the Arizona Department of Transportation’s (ADOT) preliminary plan, which outlines the proposed schedule and budget for the project.

    APACHE JUNCTION, AZ (AZFamily) — A boy is dead, and a girl is in the hospital after a crash in Apache Junction on Wednesday morning. Around 4:40 a.m., the Apache Junction Police Department was called to a single-vehicle rollover crash near Hackamore Road and State Route 88. Officers arrived and found a boy, believed to be the driver, dead at the scene. A girl who was a passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.

    GOODYEAR, AZ (AZFamily) — A West Valley freeway has reopened after a food truck crash left a driver seriously injured late Tuesday morning. The rollover crash happened just before 11 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the Loop 303, just south of Indian School Road in Goodyear. Goodyear Fire says the woman who was driving was thrown from the food truck and taken to the hospital with serious injuries. She was the only person involved in the crash.

On Tuesday morning, crews with Rural Metro San Tan Valley responded to a swarm of bees that was attacking people. Luckily, no serious injuries were reported. Anthony Conti with Great Western Pest Control and Valley Bee Control said he’s responding to about 20 bee calls per day. He provided some tips on what you should do if you see a swarm or a hive.
