WDAM-TV is a television station in Southeastern Mississippi's Pine Belt area, affiliated with both NBC and ABC. It is based in Laurel and transmits a high definition digital signal on VHF channel 7. The station's transmitter is located at its studios on U.S. 11 in Moselle, which is in southern Jones County. Raycom Media owns WDAM-TV, and viewers can watch it on Comcast channel 4, as well as in high definition on digital channel 432. Some of the popular syndicated shows featured on WDAM include The Meredith Vieira Show, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, Inside Edition, and Judge Judy, among others.

Murder suspect who was on the run is now behind bars

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A murder suspect who was on the run for nearly a decade has finally been caught and is behind bars. The Jackson Police Department arrested 48-year-old Calvin Horton. He is being charged with murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. On Friday, he was denied bond.

Wayne County leaders look to update voting process

WAYNE COIUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - Leaders in Wayne County are working to upgrade the experience for voters as they arrive to their precincts. Currently, poll workers are using pen and paper to confirm voter’s identities. New devices would make the process fully automated, allowing workers to search for names across the county. Wayne County Circuit Clerk Kathryn Revette said the devices also will help fix some of the issues where voters walk into the wrong voting precinct.
