WDAM-TV is a television station in Southeastern Mississippi's Pine Belt area, affiliated with both NBC and ABC. It is based in Laurel and transmits a high definition digital signal on VHF channel 7. The station's transmitter is located at its studios on U.S. 11 in Moselle, which is in southern Jones County. Raycom Media owns WDAM-TV, and viewers can watch it on Comcast channel 4, as well as in high definition on digital channel 432. Some of the popular syndicated shows featured on WDAM include The Meredith Vieira Show, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, Inside Edition, and Judge Judy, among others.

The Hattiesburg Fire Department turned on the water Thursday from its Ladder 8 truck to convert a parking lot at Tatum Park into a pop-up splash pad.     WAYNESBORO, Miss. (WDAM) - Cynthia Odom has been a nurse midwife at Wayne General Hospital since 1995. In Mississippi, that’s a rare title to hold. “We have deserts all over the place, and midwifery is a valuable option,” Odom said. The state hasn’t had a midwife certification program since the 1970s. Odom told WDAM 7 she was certified in Kentucky. “I pursued the certification in midwifery, and at that time it was Frontier School of Midwifery And Family Nursing,” said Odom.

    MOUNT OLIVE, Miss. (WDAM) - Two-term Mount Olive Mayor Cliff Kelly won re-election to a third term Tuesday. Kelly, a local businessman, defeated challenger Marcia Hull with 57 percent of the vote. Kelly said he’ll focus on improving infrastructure in his next term. “One of our biggest goals is to try to get more infrastructure improvements out on the highway, so we can possibly move or entice other businesses to come in along that highway,” Kelly said.
